Bible "no longer appropriate" to quote in Britain
This shocking statement was made by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) during a recent attempt to prosecute a street preacher. It not only has chilling implications for freedom of speech, but also strikes at the very heart of Britain's ancient status as a Christian nation. Despite this, not one of the UK's main churches had made any form of response, let alone complaint or condemnation.
The story all stems from a confrontation between a man called John Dunn, a soldier-turned-evangelist, and two lesbians who confronted him while he was street preaching in Swindon two years ago.
John (pictured above) was charged with using "threatening or abusive words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby".
Mr Dunn denied this, though he acknowledged telling the pair that: “It says in the Bible that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God”.
Furthermore, as the CPS goons know very well, our legal system is based on precedent. So by 'establishing' that ANY Biblical verse is too 'offensive' to quote in public, the effect would be to allow the future banning of the entire Good Book. All that would be required would be to find someone - another homosexual, a Muslim, an atheist, or a Satanist - to complain about it.
Fortunately, the case against Mr. Dunne was thrown out last week. Unfortunately, the anti-Christian bigots at the CPS have exploited it to plant the unexploded bomb of their anti-Biblical 'guidance' and statement into the legal record. Sooner or later it will be detonated by some officious cop and wrongly applied by some anti-Christian judge. And then we will have a real fight on our hands....
