As the tumultuous year of 2022 draws to a close, we wish all our members and supporters a Happy and Peaceful New Year 2023.
By way of celebration of our native British culture, our New Year's Eve video is dramatic footage of the annual celebrations in Allendale Town, Northumberland, England. Every December 31st sees the traditional Tar Barrel Ceremony, "Burning Out the Old Year." 45 men, sporting colourful fancy dress and soot-covered faces, carry whisky barrels filled with burning hot tar in a dazzling procession through the town. What a sight!
